1. BackCombing
One of the oldest tricks in the book, backcombing or teasing your hair is a very effective way to add volume to your hair. To use this method
For best results use a dry texture spray, or stylin`g powder prior to backcombing, and
spray with a light hold hairspray following the completion of each section.
2. Styling Products
For Wet Hair
Products designed for volume can make all the difference when styling. When blowdrying, opt for volumizing mousse or a root lift spray. In addition throughout the lengths and ends, consider using a blow dry gel and wet holding spray that will help support and hold any styling that is created while drying. For Dry Hair
When working with dry hair, volumizing and texturizing powders can be quite effective. Texture sprays ment for dry hair are also a favorite among stylists and consumers alike. When trying to add volume to hair that feels a bit oily, dry shampoo, in all its forms can be a best friend. Dry shampoo comes in the form of loose powder, aerosol spray, and wet foam. Aerosol and loose powder may be tinted for those with dark hair to avoid a powdery look visible on their dark hair.
3. Blowouit
A good blowout is a great way to start your look with a solid voluminous foundation. Blowdrys can be achieved in more ways than just a blow dryer and brush. While this is one way to do a blowout, an easier, more user-friendly way to achieve similar results is to use a hot air brush. A hot air brush is a brush and blowdryer all in one tool. This frees up one of your hands, and takes 80% of the coordination struggles that comes with using a blow dryer and brush away.
How-to
Whenever blow drying your hair, ensure your hair is 75-85% dry before ever picking up a brush. Either rough dry the hair or let it air dry. This will cut down drying time, save your arms energy for the part that really matters, and make your hair hold a style better than it would have if you tried to use a brush from the start.

4. Heat Styling
Heat styling tools such as a curling iron, straightener, heat brush, or hot rollers can also help add volume to your hair.in addition there are some hot tools created for the sole purpose of adding volume to the hair. These special hot tools usually take on some form of micro-crimper that is meant to be done beneath the top layer of hair and clapped down at the roots. Our favorite volumizing hot tool is the Voloom. Voloom, shown in figure 2, uses a checkerboard like pattern and is used similarly to the crimping tool made for volume. Just a few clamps below the top hair surface goes a long way! When using heat styling tools, be sure to apply a heat protectant to your hair beforehand to prevent damage.
5. Moisture Styling
Moisture styling is a great way to add volume to your hair while also nourishing it. Steam rollers, pin curl sets, and wet roller sets can all help create volume while keeping your hair healthy and moisturized. Try using these methods on damp hair and allow your hair to dry naturally or use a hair dryer on a low setting.
